Manny Pacquiao - Floyd Mayweather fight, anyone? Well, almost all boxing and non-boxing fans are wishing for this to happen. However, talks for this match-up always collapses. With the two fighters nearing the end of their careers, fans remain hopeful that the eight-division world champion will face the undefeated American boxer on the ring.
In the latest report about the much awaited Manny Pacquiao - Floyd Mayweather bout, it seems that there's still reason to hope for it to take place. According to Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, seeing Pacquiao and Mayweather slugging it out in their boxing gloves has a handsome chance to happen.
"The networks are now already talking," Arum said according to Filipino new site GMA Network.
"I am now more optimistic that the fight is going to happen than I was three or four years ago. I am talking to responsible people who are in touch with the Mayweather guys. All of these people have the ability to move it ahead and make it happen," he explained adding that the Cowboys Stadium in Dallas is being eyed to stage since "it is the only venue which has the capacity to host a big show such as the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight."
Even Manny Pacquiao himself, who is set to fight Chris Algieri on November 22 in Macau, China, is not giving up on it.
"Anything could happen," he said. "For as long as I am still in boxing, and he is still here, there's always a chance that we could fight together."
Fans are probably not sold with this latest development on Manny Pacquiao Floyd Mayweather fight talks. People will probably only believe that these phenomenal fighters are going to square off once the bell starts ringing. Still, this will be one for the books once this happens. Just keep your fingers crossed.
