Could Indonesia be another gold mine for the world's current top 3 smartphone maker? The recent release of Xiaomi's Redmi Note in Indonesia was another huge success, as all 10,000 units have been sold out in 40 seconds.
Chinese tech giant Xiaomi's Vice President for International Operations Hugo Barra wrote in an official Facebook post that read "Mi Indonesia: 10,000 Redmi Note out of stock in under 40 secs today! Redmi Note coming to India next."
The Redmi Note was supposed to be released in October but Xiaomi found it hard to ship a large number of the said device due to the Diwali Festive season. Xiaomi's Vice President for International Operations Hugo Barra said "This month (October) is interesting because this is Diwali here and bringing the device in large quantities is turning out to be much more difficult. We can't even charter a plane to bring units to India from factories in China due to the rush."
Although no exact date has been mentioned for the release of Redmi Note in India based on Barra's recent post, a report made by India Today mentioned the high-ender device will be released by the end of November. Another report from International Business Times say it could be 1st week of December. This another hot commodity of Xiaomi is priced at Rs 9,999, which truly is value for money considering its hardware specs and features.
The device comes with a 5.5-inch HD display and is run by a 1.7GHz MT6592 octa-core processor. It has 2GB RAM with 720P screen resolution. Moreoever, it is supported by a dual SIM-card with an 8GB internal storage. Its microSD card can be expanded up to 32GB. It comes with 4G LTE connectivity and powered by a 3,500 mAh battery. The Redmi Note has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.
In the meantime, the Redmi Note 4G version will be ready for release in Singapore and HongKong by November 18.
