Apple won't make cheap phones to compete with Android or windows devices, despite rumors of this possibly going down.
According to The Telegraph this technological products manufacturer company's marketing executive Greg Joswiak ensured that they aren't working on a cheaper iPhone as wide rumor spread that they are working on it prior to the release of the 5c and 5s last year.
However, while the iPhone 5c is more affordable than the 5s, it is still far beyond the reach of the budget market.
Joswiak said at the code/Mobile conference in California this week: "We were talking about some of the mistakes Apple made in the '90s, and some of it was trying to do things like making cheap products that were chasing market share instead of chasing a better experience. You make that mistake once in your life, you're not going to make it twice."
This tactic of Apple has been succeed, especially with its iPhone, which grew to more than 100 billion dollars in sales for 2014 and accounted for over half of Apple's total revenue. Even as its iPad fights to increase sales, the company still makes a profit on the tablet.
"Our goal is to make the best products with the best experience. We [believe] that if we make a better product and a better experience, there will always be a healthy market for that. And a healthy market doesn't mean we have to be market-share leader," he said.
Meanwhile Google is working on its platform "Android One" as their goal is to bringing smartphones to millions of new customers. Currently Android holds 58.2 percent of the UK market compared with Apple's 31 percent, but Jozwiak insisted that it's not all about being the leader.
He said that Apple is focused on creating premium devices for the few rather than budget devices for the many.
