While we know that Scarecrow's wrath leads to the main conflict of the "Batman: Arkham Knight" installment, the other equally disturbing supervillains clearly need to be discussed before the release date.
Though based on the original characters, Penguin, Harley Quinn, Two Face and the Riddler have been revamped, and restored to their fullest badass and forbidding supervillain category.
"Batman: Arkham Knight" occurs a year after Joker's demise in "Batman: Arkham City". Although this brings peace to the City of Gotham, the remaining supervillain characters like Two-Face, Harley Quinn and Penguin have seen the chance to reunite against destroying Batman finally. Initiating the attack on Gotham City, Scarecrow unleashes a fear toxin that sends Gotham residents out of the city, leaving Commissioner Gordon with the Gotham City Police, outnumbered and outgunned.
According to the official PlayStation site, "Gotham falls victim to Scarecrow's fear toxin, transforming the famous city into a twisted, hellish nightmare in the 'Batman: Arkham Knight' Scarecrow Nightmare Pack. Tear through the city in the all-new Batmobile and face off against a towering vision of Scarecrow and his undead army as they spread terror on the street."
While the Batmobile of course draws in attention upon the "Batman: Arkham Knight" release date as this is the first driveable Batmobile of the "Batman: Arkham" series, another crowd favorite are the supervillain characters in "Batman: Arkham Knight".
Apart from Scarecrow and his fear toxin, and Penguin, Harley Quinn, Two-Face and Riddler are the supervillain characters appearing upon the "Batman: Arkham Knight" release date. A new supervillain character created by Rocksteady specifically upon the "Batman: Arkham Knight" release date is known as Arkham Knight who is said to be a militarized version of Batman, that he will come into contact with deep into the "Batman: Arkham Knight". He will be recognized through an "A" logo on his chest, that symbolizes that Arkham Asylum facility where he most likely will have history with.
All these supervillain characters will be available upon the "Batman: Arkham Knight" release date, and Batman will have to go through them alone-no co-op. While multiplayer games are of course a hoot, this is not the case for the upcoming "Batman: Arkham Knight" upon the release date.
Gamespot shares Rocksteady's input on why "Batman: Arkham Knight" remains single-player game: "We're making a Batman game. For us, that means getting the player to be the Batman. It's a single-player experience where you get to pick up the controller and wear the cowl and be that guy. So there won't be any co-op."
