How To Get Away With Murder Episode 8 Recap And Spoiler: Executive Producer Says Bonnie's Backstory Will Be Explored

| By

The last episode of How to Get Away with Murder didn't just help audience know what Lila was like. Lila is the student lover of Sam (Tom Verica), the husband of show's main protagonist, Annalise Keating (played by Viola Davis). Aside from Lila, the episode, titled He Has a Wife, also let people take a peek in the life of Bonnie Winterbottom (played by Liza Weil), Annalise's very loyal assistant. However, fans now assume that it might be the last time they will see Bonnie after her boss kicked her out for keeping huge secrets from her. She knelt down an Annalise but she got nothing.

Why is Bonnie so loyal to Annalise? How did the latter do it? In the next episodes of How to Get Away with Murder, viewers will finally know why. According to executive producer Peter Nowalk, the series will try to explore the past life of Bonnie that made her very faithful to Annalise that she even had to kiss her feet after being rejected.

"What I would love to explore in future episodes is how Bonnie came to work for Annalise. It's very interesting and mysterious, and she owes a lot to Annalise. I will say that," Nowalk told TV Line in an interview regarding the last How to Get Away with Murder episode.

"So, the fact that Bonnie tried to step outside the family circle and lie is embarrassing and shameful, and Liza Weil, who plays Bonnie, knew all that gutturally. Her instinct was to make this as painful a confession as she could."

The most recent episode of How to Get Away with Murder is not the last that you will see of Bonnie. In fact, before these words from Nowalk, reports already came out that Liza will return for the season finale. The Entertainment Weekly wrote:

"Yes, but she won't be away from the firm for long. In fact, we'll see her back in the winter finale, though the dynamic between Annalise and her protégé has definitely changed.

"She desperately wants to be Annalise's person, but it's not the same," Liza Weil says. But her initial firing does lead to that surprising hookup with Doucheface. "Getting fired is a trigger," she adds. "Where she goes from there definitely informs how she ended up with Asher (Matt McGorry).""
