After the release of Sid Meier's "Civilization: Beyond Earth" video game in October of this year, how does the game fare in ratings among gamers and critics? Find out more about the game and read on!

Sid Meier's "Civilization: Beyond Earth" is a PC game that is "set in the future, global events have destabilized the world leading to a collapse of modern society, a new world order and an uncertain future for humanity. As the human race struggles to recover, the re-developed nations focus their resources on deep space travel to chart a new beginning for mankind," as described in "Civilization's" official site.

Players of Sid Meier's "Civilization: Beyond Earth" "will write the next chapter for humanity as [they] lead [the] people into a new frontier and create a new civilization in space." Sid Meier's "Civilization: Beyond Earth" features seeing the adventure, colonizing alien worlds, technology web advancements, orbital layers that build and deploy military capabilities, and unit customization. "Civilization: Beyond Earth" can also be played with up to 8 players.

Released just last October, Sid Meier's "Civilization: Beyond Earth" has been out for almost a month now and it's time to see how it ranks among the newly released games and how gamers see the turn-based game series.

Reviews of Sid Meier's "Civilization: Beyond Earth" surfacing online reveals mixed feedback. According to Game Informer, "Civilization: Beyond Earth doesn't take the series to the outer galaxies in terms of revolutionary new gameplay, but it provides fantastic modifications and mechanics that allow it to stand proud as a worthy bearer of the Civilization name. This is a must play for strategy fans, and if you've always been curious about the genre but never jumped in, your opportunity is here."

The IGN review on the other hand isn't that happy about Sid Meier's "Civilization: Beyond Earth" saying "Beyond Earth is nowhere near the strongest game in the more than 20-year-old Civilization series, but this big collection of interesting experimental ideas definitely still kept me playing long after I should've gone to bed."

Sid Meier's "Civilization: Beyond Earth" review in GameRankings generated a score of 79.84%, and an 81/100 in Metacritic reviews.
