I don't want to wait for our lives to be over! Seems like the opening song of Dawson's Creek can still linger on your mind even after more than a decade ago.
After all this time, Katie Holmes, who played Joey on the long-running series, revealed that she still keeps in touch with her former co-stars. She revealed this when she appeared at the Apple Store in Soho, New York City, this week.
According to the 35-year-old actress, "You know, we all still keep in touch and support each other." She continued, "And luckily, we all have been able to stay busy. We had a really wonderful time. It was six years of our lives, and we were all really passionate about making it the best it could be. We really believed in ourselves."
Holmes also talked about her former costars, saying she "love(s) them all so dearly. I'm so excited for everyone and proud. I can't believe... it seems like yesterday, and then it seems like a hundred years ago when we made it. We really did have a good time."
Holmes had launched her career on Dawson's Creek which aired for six seasons on The WB from 1998 to 2003. The actress admitted that she learned a lot of invaluable lessons while she was working on the teen drama at that time. "It really taught me discipline," she said. "We worked long hours every day. We learned about telling a story in seven days, and keeping energy up while in character. So it was a really good foundation for being in this business and putting the work in."
She also continued that she will sometimes watch a rerun and reminisce about filming the beloved series. "If something comes out, I'll watch a little bit [but] usually it's like looking at old pictures," she said. "I've had a great time in my career so I have a nice time looking back."
