For this week's 'The Originals' season 2 recap, we find out more about Esther's secrets as well as the pain and guilt she had to deal with just to keep her family together.
Last episode, we learned that Tatia was Elijah's kryptonite. In episode 6, Esther tried to use Klaus' past as well to convince him to take up her offer of mortality.
Unfortunately, his mother's usual promise of a chance at a real family after he's "cured" isn't enough for the vindictive hybrid to get rid of his hatred for the witch. Even her little "gift" of giving him his biological father back doesn't faze Klaus.
We also finally know why Esther had to kill baby Hope. She previously asked her sister, Dalia, for a fertility spell but it cost her all the firstborns in her line. She had to kill Klaus' daughter to stop Dalia from coming back to claim her.
She instead gave Klaus the next best thing - his father, Ansel. As it turns out, the werewolf (who was killed by Mikael a thousand years ago) was brought back to life by Esther and is currently teaching Jackson "the old ways." He volunteers to help Hayley out in rescuing Oliver.
Meanwhile, the reveal of Esther's secrets brought another danger to the Mikaelson's already troubled family - their Aunt Dalia. Will she come back with the eldest Mikaelson, Freya?
According to Enstars, Rebekah will be appearing on 'The Originals' season 2 again. Executive producer Michael Narducci revealed that Klaus' younger sister will be appearing in episode 8.
Would she be more agreeable to Esther's offer of a renewed life? We will just have to wait and see in future 'The Originals' season 2 recaps.
Narducci also revealed to E! News that the ancient witch will be using another woman in Klaus' life to "cleanse" her children. She will reportedly have a "horrifying" plan for Cammie and she will be playing an "important" role in Esther's whole scheme.
