The Osbournes: MTV Revives Reality Show Starring The Osbournes; Premieres On VH1

The Osbournes are set to return to reality television nearly a decade after their show's departure from MTV.

The series focusing on rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his family has been revived by MTV's sister channel VH1, according to a report on Thursday by The Hollywood Reporter.

The Viacom-owned cable network was close to a deal for a new small batch of episodes focusing on the family that set a new standard for reality shows during their run on MTV.

Sharon Osbourne, 62, has been touting the return of the show with an eight-episode special.

The outspoken matriarch earlier this month told ITV's Loose Women that returning to a reality series was the idea of her 65-year-old husband Ozzy.

She explained that he can't remember the show's four seasons that aired from March 2002 to March 2005 because the Black Sabbath star was drunk the whole time.

'Ozzy has decided that he wants to do another few episodes, not a whole season, about eight episodes, of The Osbournes,' Sharon said.

'He said that for the whole three years that we did it he was drunk the whole time. But he would like to do one where he's completely sober, as he is now,' she added.

Ozzy previously battled addiction problems but has been sober for two years and attends daily Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Sharon said the revived version of the show will focus mainly on her and Ozzy but will feature appearances from their now adult children Jack, 28, and 30-year-old Kelly.
