While waiting for "Agent Carter" release date on television, Marvel makes sure that Peggy Carter is known to the public by having her return to the ABC television series "Agents of Shield", and the upcoming film "Ant Man".
"Agent Carter" is portrayed by Hayley Atwell who has appeared in "Cassandra's Dream" in 2007 and "The Duchess" in 2008. She has gained popularity portraying the same character during her first appearance in the 2011 Marvel movie "Captain America: The First Avenger" alongside Chris Evans.
The official plot of "Agent Carter" upon its release date reveals that "It's 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSP (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark."
Updated news on "Agent Carter" prior to the release date reveals that while fans are eagerly waiting for the first episode on ABC, Agent Carter will be appearing in other productions within the Marvel Universe.
According to reports online, Agent Carter will be returning to Marvel's "Agents of Shield" after her first appearance in the premier episode of "Agents of Shield" season 2. Agent Carter will be appearing on the eighth episode titled "The Things We Bury" of "Agents of Shield" during a flashback.
Apart from Agent Carter's appearance in "Agents of Shield" before the release date of her own series "Agent Carter", Hayley Atwell's character Agent Carter is also set to appear in the upcoming "Ant Man" film by Peyton Reed due for release in July 17, 2015.
According to Latino Review, sources revealed that body doubles for Hayley Atwell were called in during the production of "Ant Man". However, IGN reports that Agent Carter's prominence in the film "Ant Man" remains to be seen.
