There's no The Strain Season 2 release date yet as the cast and crew have only started production this month. One thing for sure though is that audience will see major transformation, figuratively and literally. Some characters in the first season of this FX series were contented into some kind of baggage that needs to be saved all the time. One of which is Mia Maestro's Dr. Nora Martinez, a member of CDC and lover of Corey Stoll''s Dr. Ephraim 'Eph' Goodweather. In the Strain Season 2, people will see a different Dr. Nora.
In an interview with Zap2It, the Argentinian actress said that her character will undergo major transformation because of the events that occurred since the 'virus' took over her life. As you can recall from the first season of the Strain, Dr. Martinez's mother was infected and became a vampire. That left Nora with no other choice but to kill her own mother. It needed a great amount of strength to do and for that, Dr. Nora Martinez, as Maestro puts it, will be become a warrior in The Strain Season 2.
"I'm looking forward to playing a more hardened Nora ... a person who's not afraid to die," Maestro said when asked for The Strain Season 2 spoiler. "For her not to have any second thoughts about fighting, just cold with nothing to lose." In short, the actress teases, "She's becoming more of a warrior." That's definitely a ride you'll want to take.
Dr. Nora becoming a warrior will surely be a welcome addition for Vasiliy Fet (Kevin Durand) and Professor Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley) who are always outnumbered by the vampires during encounters. However, things won't be easy for them in the second season of the Strain as according to series creator and director Guillermo del Toro, more 'creatures' will arrive in the show.
"We start with The Strain in November, and I'm going to be shooting a creature unit, the action unit, and I'm going to be shooting the Mexican luchador footage, the black-and-white footage that appears in the series," del Toro said during an interview with Spinoff.
