The upcoming Masters of Sex Season 3 has been rumored to have released a premiere date. According to sources, the TV Series' third season will be premiering on mid-2015.
As previously reported, a whole lot has happened with the two main characters the past season. Virginia Johnson (played wonderfully by Lizzy Caplan) was fired from her job at Buell Green, Bill Masters (Michael Sheen) forming a new clinic, and all throughout the season you could feel the sexual tension between the two. Perhaps it's time for their characters to actually make it official and just be together?
Fans are also eager to find out what in the world is really up with Flo (played by Artemis Pebdani) and Austin (played by Teddy Sears) and their little sex games that end up with Flo blackmailing Dr. Austin and somehow getting the "Gone with the Wind" movie involved in her little demented mind. Fans don't seem to find the relevance in this whole part of the season, and are starting to question whether the show's writers are just bored and want to add something to the season. Regardless, fans seem to think that the whole relationship between the two characters is extremely irrelevant to the whole plot.
The Masters of Sex Season 3 plot line is set to feature a bang, according to rumors.
According to New Republic:
"Though "Masters of Sex" is ostensibly about the pioneering sex researchers Bill Masters (Michael Sheen) and Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan), the show has let itself veer far from its ostensible inspiration. If the first season presented a relatively limited mix of subplots (and often felt muted as a result), the second, which concludes this Sunday, has thrown out a dizzying number. Among others, there's Libby's suburban housewife-ennui, encased in an off-kilter story about race; Frank Masters confronting his brother about their unresolved shared history of abuse at the hands of their father; former prostitute Betty's run through a wealthy husband and an ex-girlfriend before becoming Masters's employee; and then there's the study itself, which changes locations seemingly every episode as Masters pisses off one hospital official after another. These multiplying plot lines aren't just products of the show's creators' short attention spans; each additional one further complicates the shows central focus: not sex, but power."
Speculations about the storyline of Season 3 have already been brewing and making the rounds on the internet. Fans are eager to find out if Libby (Caitlin Fitzgerald) will finally get out of her prim and proper role and cheat on Bill with Robert, her CORE co-worker, and what path will Bill and Virginia's study take this time, not mentioning the sexual tension that's pretty evident between the two.
