Reports on Amal- Angelina feud have been making rounds in the internet the past days saying Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie did not show up at George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's wedding in Italy because Jolie "couldn't stand her United Nations colleague. Good thing somebody decided to speak up before it blows out of proportion.
In a report by entertainmentwise.com, George Clooney's rep has denied the fight rumors, simply because the 2 women have "never met" in the first place. The buzz began when "Mr & Mrs Smith" actress Jolie, as well as London barrister Alamuddin, both took part in the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict last June. Celeb Dirty Laundry website reported that "Angelina Jolie isn't too fond of Amal Alamuddin, and supposedly even avoided her during a recent UN event," where Angelina is a special envoy for UN Refugee Agency, while Amal is a humanitarian lawyer and a representative of UNICEF.
Moreover, Fury lead actor Pitt seemed to brush off the rumor in an interview by GQ magazine. When asked about his friendship with the Perfect Storm actor, Pitt told the magazine, "Well, you know, George is extremely accessible. He's one of our best representatives." He further revealed Clooney is a "joy to be around," and is "funny". The Troy actor also opened up saying he himself is a bit of a "loner," and is "quiet by nature." He added that lately he has been spending more time with his kids and has slowed down on other things. Well, it sounds like Brad's change of priorities have indeed solidified since he got married.
Meanwhile, Amal has recently taken her husband's name, so the human rights lawyer is now being addressed as Amal Clooney. Although this move has caused a debate from some who did not agree with Amal's decision, we agree with Elle columnist E. Jean Carroll when she told NY Daily News, "what woman would not take George Clooney's name?"
