Instead of one, there will be two Shake Shacks coming to Chicago in 2015.
The New York-based Shake Shack is famous for and of course the burgers and shakes. Originally, the plan was to open one location in Chicago, but now there's two coming to the Windy City.
Located in River North, the new franchise location is expected to open on Nov. 4, next to other commercial space.
According to NBC Chicago, organizers of the opening said, "In the spirit of Chicago's vibrant public art collection and in homage to Shake Shack's roots as a hot dog cart art installation in New York City,"
There's a Shake Shack located at Citi Field, which is the current home of the New York Mets. Fans miss a few innings of the game as they wait for a long time to get some of the action.
Born in New York City's Madison Square Park in 2004, Shake Shack is a modern day "roadside" burger stand known for its 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, griddled-crisp flat-top dogs, fresh-made frozen custard, crinkle cut fries, craft beer and wine, and more. A fun, lively, fine-casual restaurant with widespread appeal, over the past decade Shake Shack has earned a cult-like following around the world.
Construction is finally underway in the former Harley Davidson store on Ohio Street, the site of the first Shake Shack in the Midwest. Rumored since 2012 and confirmed in early 2013, this location will finally bring Meyer's frenzy-inducing burgers and frozen custards-as well as Vienna Beef hot dogs and beer and wine-to town by the end of the year. There's six "interactive life-size sliding puzzles" now affixed to its plywood, and there's already another shack on the way just to the south.
"The puzzles invite the neighboring community to engage with them", said the organizers.
Both locations of shack shack will serve the modern-day, "roadside" burger-stand staples Shake Shack is known for: burgers, flat-top dogs made with Chicago's Vienna Beef, frozen custard, craft beer and wine.
