The Simpsons Futurama Crossover Episode: Fox Reported The Simpsons And Futurama Crossover Episode Soared High In Ratings

| By

Fox's animated crossovers are serving it well this season.

After a solid lead-in from football on Sunday night, the network aired "The Simpsons'" crossover episode with late sister series "Futurama."

It was the top-rated entertainment series of the night.

The cartoon rose nearly a full point to a 2.9 rating among adults 18-49 in live-plus-same-day ratings, also pulling 6.6 million viewers.

The night's big winner was NBC's Sunday Night Football.

Ahead of time zone adjustments and final returns, the game pulled a preliminary 6.2 rating in the key demo.

That's for a game that saw the Green Bay Packers steamroll the Chicago Bears 55 to 14.

Fox's block came in second place in the key demo.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine (1.8 adults) was steady with its most recent episode, while "Family Guy" (1.8 adults) returned from a short break off seven-tenths of a point from its last outing. "Mulaney" (0.9 adults) was up by two-tenths.

"America's Funniest Home Videos" (1.5 adults) was up three-tenths of a point on ABC. (The 25-year-old clipshow outrated "Resurrection" and "Revenge this week.")

"Once Upon a Time" held steady with a 2.5 rating in the key demo, while Resurrection (1.2 adults) fell two-tenths and Revenge (1.3 adults) also held.

On CBS, the lack of a big football lead-in - like the one it saw last week - saw "60 Minutes" (1.5 adults) drop two-tenths of a point in the key demo.

"Madam Secretary" and "The Good Wife" both earned a 1.4 rating in the key demo, though for the former that meant a four-tenths of a point drop. CSI (1.2 adults) was off by two-tenths.
