While the creators of "Sherlock" are still deep in development for the fourth season, Benedict Cumberbatch's hands are full. Apart from the engagement, the British actor is once again diving into another television drama known as "The Hollow Crown" this 2014.
Early in 2014, news that Benedict Cumberbatch will appear in the BBC historical film "The Hollow Crown" surfaced online. "The Hollow Crown" is already running on its third film, with Benedict Cumberbatch headlining as Richard III.
According to news from The Guardian, Benedict Cumberbatch shares about his joining "The Hollow Crown" production saying, "I can't wait to work with Dominic Cooke again to bring this complex, funny and dangerous character to life for the BBC and Neal Street Production's peerless series of Shakespeare's history plays."
"The Hollow Crown" news reveals that Benedict Cumberbatch stars alongside Dame Judy Dench as Cecily the Duchess of York, Sophie Okonedo as Queen Margaret, Keeley Hawes as Queen Elizabeth, and Geoffrey Streatfeild as Edward IV, with Sam Troughton, Ben Daniels, James Feat and Phoebe Fox.
Prior to Benedict Cumberbatch joining "The Hollow Crown" television film series, "The Hollow Crown" also starred Tom Hiddleston a Prince Hal in the first "The Hollow Crown". Whether the two will be onscreen for "The Hollow Crown" still remains a mystery, but that wouldn't be such as bad thing.
With Benedict Cumberbatch's "The Hollow Crown" release date set for 2016, filming has begun this November. Reports online reveal that Dame Judy Dench and "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch will begin filming at the Gloucester Cathedral in England.
Gloucester Cathedral welcomes Benedict Cumberbatch and the crew of "The Hollow Crown" in its statement "Gloucester Cathedral is a magnificent building with a long history and we get a large number of film companies interested in using it as a backdrop for their productions. As many people will remember from two years ago, the BBC used the Cathedral to film scenes from 'Henry IV', and we are always happy to have them back."
