The engagement rumors between British actor Benedict Cumberbatch and director Sophie Hunter surfaced last month as the two were seen visiting the latter's hometown for speculated family get-together. Rumors were in fact true as early this month, a very discreet and traditional announcement was posted in the Times on Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter's rumored engagement.
The post said under "Forthcoming Marriages": "Mr. B.T. Cumberbatch and Miss S.I. Hunter: The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London."
As this 2014 Benedict Cumberbatch news might be a bit too harsh for his millions of fans worldwide, fans took to social media like Twitter to express what can only surmised as grief for the "Sherlock" star's loss of bachelor status.

While a release date for "Sherlock" season 4 remains to be unannounced, may be the DVD and Blu-ray set will satiate fans' thirst for "Sherlock", in the mean time.
Benedict Cumberbatch's "Sherlock" season 4 release date is yet to be announced, however BBC confirms production of full-length special episode to begin in January 2015. The rest of the three episodes will be filmed within 2015, so relatively, we're seeing Benedict Cumberbatch back as "Sherlock" in season 4 by 2016.
