Blackfilm.com has shared a first look at Tony Award winner Patina Miller as Commander Paylor in the highly anticipated film THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART I.
Miller's character is described as "the leader of the District 8 rebels who fight for their freedom against the Capitol. Described a person with considerable military power, Katniss thinks of her as a solid person."
The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin and Jena Malone, with Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland along with Julianne Moore as President Alma Coin along with supporting characters Cressida (Natalie Dormer), Boggs (Mahershala Ali), Pollux (Elden Henson), Messalla (Evan Ross), and Castor (Wes Chatham).
Directed by Francis Lawrence and based on the novel by Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games: Mockinjay follow Katniss Everdeen's (Jennifer Lawrence) journey as she leads the districts of Panem in a rebellion against the tyrannical and corrupt Capitol.
Under the leadership of President Coin (Julianne Moore) and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and a nation moved by her courage.
Miller currently appears as press coordinator 'Daisy' in the new CBS drama 'Madame Secretary.' She received the
2013 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for her performance of 'The Leading Player' in Diane Paulus' production of Pippin.
Other theater credits include Broadway's Sister Act and Off-Broadway's Ragtime, Lost in the Stars, Hair and Romantic Poetry.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 hits theaters on November 21st.
