Aww! Iron Man's Robert Downey Jr. is a proud dad to a baby girl!
Downey Jr. just welcomed a daughter with his wife Susan. The 49-year-old actor had shared the happy news on the social media platform, Facebook, on Wednesday. "After 9 months of intensive development, Team Downey is pleased to announce our 2014 fall/winter project," he said. "Principal photography commenced 11-14 and will continue until she says, 'Dad! You are embarrassing me... I'm 30, this has gotta stop.'
The Kiss Kiss Bang Bang star continued, "Yep... Avri Roel Downey joined the party @ 3:22 a.m. on November 4th... she's 7lbs even, spans 20 inches, and is accompanied by a variety of Susan's traits that have seemingly overwritten my 'junk DNA.'
The happy dad also said he'll be sharing the photos of baby Arvi Roel with the public soon. "I'll post pics here + there when I'm not too busy staring..."
The new little angel to the happy family joins 2-year-old brother, Exton Elias. Downey is also a father to 21-year-old Indio from his previous marriage to Deborah Falconer. But Arvi is Downey's first daughter.
While the 49-year-old thesp is undoubtedly thrilled to finally have a little girl, that doesn't mean he isn't a little nervous.
The actor revealed to Entertainment Tonight shortly before his daughter's birth about what he feels he would be as a dad. "I don't want to be a pushover. I want to be a fair but firm dad. I want her to fear and respect me."
Last July 9, he tweeted and then posted on facebook the announcement that they were expecting a daughter. On facebook, her said, "Um. I don't know if it's a 'man's world,' but I'm certain women run it. Susan and I are therefore delighted to announce we are expecting a baby. Girl. November."
