Gotham series cast Robin Lord Taylor has been described as one of the best villains on TV because of his portrayal of Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. The Penguin. Taylor receives rave reviews for his performance in the show and fans want to see more of him each week. The popularity has changed Taylor's life tremendously. Penguin is now synonymous to him that he is even called as that while he is going to the public rest room.
"It was not at the urinal, but it was in line for the urinal at the World Series recently. I was standing there, waiting to pee, and some guy's like, "The Penguin! The Penguin's in the bathroom!" [Laughs] I said, "Yes, I am. The Penguin pees," the Gotham TV series actor told Jessica Radloff of Glamour.com during an interview.
Aside from the way Gotham TV series has changed his life, Robin also talked about how things go for him, Ben McKenzie (who plays protagonists Jim Gordon), Donal Logue (portrays Harvey Bullock), and others on the set. He described McKenzie as someone he respects and loyal, Logue as 'everything to us' and David Mazouz, who plays young Bruce Wayne, as the 'prodigy.'
In previous news, Cory Michael Smith said that among all Gotham TV series cast, the one he wants to see his Edward 'The Riddler' Nygma character interact with is Oswald Cobblepot.
"Robin Lord Taylor is a friend and is great actor and we are already joking that the Penguin and the Riddler could really cause problems in the city," Smith said.
Well, the feeling is mutual. Taylor wants Penguin to meet the Riddler, too. Although the two crossing paths is a bit unlikely at this moment. The two actors are hoping it will happen. When that moment comes in Gotham TV series, there will be a showdown. At least that's what Taylor is teases to fans.
"That's a slow burn, but I hope it's soon because I love Cory Michael Smith. We have fun together off set. We have a little prank-ish thing going that we keep all in the world of the show. So you know, we'll send each other little notes from Oswald to Ed. Little things like that. [Laughs] But as far as their relationship goes, it's all building toward this eventual showdown, which I'm just dying to happen. I want it to happen tomorrow."
