The Hateful Eight cast has been announced and this includes artists who have worked with Quentin Tarantino before. This film, which was first revealed in 2013 but went through a lot of delays after the renowned director considered dropping it because someone leaked the script, is a Western movie set years after the Civil War. Tarantino then confirmed that Hateful Eight will push through on May of this year. The confirmed Hateful Eight cast is lead by Samuel Jackson and and Kurt Rusell. The two new additions are The Bridge's Demian Bichir, Channing Tatum, and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
News of new Hateful Eight cast was first revealed by Deadline.com. It wrote:
"EXCLUSIVE: The Weinstein Company has finalized the cast for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight, the epic post-Civil War Western that begins shooting early next year in Telluride. As I told you was in the works yesterday, Channing Tatum has signed on for a role, and also new to the cast is Oscar nominee Demian Bichir. Both are making their first appearances in a Tarantino pic."
This will be the first time that Tatum and Bichir will work for a Tarantino motion picture.
Among those who were earlier considered for roles in Hateful Eight film are Mockingjay star Jennifer Lawrence and Viggo Mortensen. Collider blog said that Hunger Games' Katniss Everdeen was in talks with Tarantino and it is "not a "wish-list" thing where she's one of many actresses being considered for a role."
The New York Daily News, on the other hand, reported that "a confidential spy" saw Tarantino meeting up with Viggo Mortensen in Tribeca, where the pair discussed characters from a developing project - meaning, the filmmaker may be eying the Lord of the Rings trilogy star for one of the eight central roles in his latest western genre throwback."
Lawrence and Mortensen were not named in Hateful Eight cast so there's probably some point that the talks between them and Tarantino collapsed. Or maybe, the ones selected fit the roles better.
