The demand for Xiaomi's Redmi 1S may still be high in India, but the brand must have saturated the chunk of the market this time based on the latest result of its 9th flash sale last November 4. It was reported that all 100,000 units of Redmi 1S were sold out in an hour. This has also been the case during the 6th, 7th and 8th flash sale where all units were sold out in more or less 30 minutes, as compared to the 1st to 5th sales which only took seconds for all Redmi 1S units to be out of stock.
Xiaomi, however, came up with 2 surprises for their Indian market for the November 4 flash sale. One, as shoppers went online to register, some lucky ones who were not able to purchase the gadget during the previous sales had the chance to get one unit pre-added to their carts. Another thing, shoppers were able to get 10% discount on some of the Redmi 1S covers.
Although the turnout for this sale was not how the company has expected, they are still holding another sale, and probably the last at least for this year,on November 11. According to reports, the Chinese tech giant will release more or less another 100,000 units of Redmi 1S. Registration has already started and will end on November 10.
More than being an economical phone which costs only USD100 (£60; Rs5,999), the device has great features that include 4.7in IPS display, runs on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating platform, and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor along with a 1GB RAM. Redmi 1S also showcases an 8MP primary camera and a 1.6MP secondary camera. The device also provides users of an 8GB internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB via an external microSD card. Moreover, A 2,000 mAh battery powers the entire Xiaomi Redmi 1S smartphone.
Xiaomi smartphones have made a mark in the Indian market from the time the "Apple of China" has released its products in the country the past months. They have been giving their competitors such as Samsung, Motorola, and even Apple, a run for their money because of their super affordable phones but with premium quality. Stay tuned for the November 11 flash sale update.
