Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is reducing the price of Mi 4 in China, according to a report published by GizChina. This is part of Xiaomi's price reduction drive, while some reports are saying that the said strategy is also an indication of Xiaomi's release of new flagship devices in the near future.
To date, the Xiaomi Mi 4 is priced at 1,999 Yuan (£202, INR 20,000). And its new price tag according to the Tmall listing, although not yet official, is said to be 1,799 Yuan (£182,INR 18,000). Xiaomi has recently launched in China the black version of Mi4 last October 28 so the company expects to derive more sales from their new flagship phone, which was released August this year.
As the new flagship phone of Xiaomi is gearing up for release in India by early 2015, the Indian market is said to expect a now affordable Mi4, with high-end specs and features. No official price for the Indian market has been released yet by the brand but it could be only a little bit higher than that of Xiaomi Redmi 1S. The highly anticipated device is likely to be yet another hit in India, just like its predecessors, the Mi3 and Xiaomi's current top seller Redmi 1S.
The Xiaomi Mi4 features a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM and 16 or 64GB of non-expandable internal storage. The device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz which also comes with an Adreno 330 GPU. On the back of the device is a 13-megapixel camera surrounded by a dual-LED flash while there's an 8-megapixel shooter located on the front. This device ships with a 3080mAh non-removable battery and Android 4.4.3 KitKat with Xiaomi's MIUI OS on top of it.
The Apple of China just finished its 9th Redmi1S Flash Sale in India, yesterday, November 4 via distributor Flipkart.
