Former Static X lead man and guitarist Wayne Static was pronounced dead Saturday, November 1, All Saint's Day.
While no official statement was released yet from his camp as to the cause of his death, many people, including his close friends and fans believe he died due to abusive intake of substance. Jacoby Shaddix, front man of Papa Roach, seemed certain of drug use it when he was quoted on this statement, ""RIP Wayne.... This is so sad. Too many musicians are dying from overdoses. I'm serious, addiction is real and takes fools out. No one is invincible. So glad I live a sober life today. The number of friends that I have lost to addiction is crazy. If you are struggling with addiction, get some help before it's too late. I know drugs and partying are part of the 'rock 'n' roll lifestyle,' but damn, how many more gotta die??? Fuck the lifestyle, I want life!!!! See you on the other side, Wayne...."
Drummer Micah Electric of 9ELECTRIC, another friend of Wayne Static, paid tribute to the legendary heavy metallic frontman with this words: "My friend Wayne Static has passed away...So glad to have known him, recorded with him, toured with him, partied with him and had MANY real conversations with him. He was a good soul who chose the wrong path."
"The wrong path. ... Addiction is real and takes fools out." These thought-provoking lines coming from his friends were indirectly saying Wayne Static may still be alive today had he practiced self-control from the vice.
Most messages of RIP that have started to flood social media are a mix of sadness and 'confirmation' of Wayne Static's sudden loss. Indeed, he was way too young at 48 to pass away a wasted figure.
Wayne Static was married to former porn actress Tera Wray.
Wayne Static was part of Static X when it was formed in 1994. Together they released six studio albums from 1999 to 2009. Their best band album, Wisconsin Death Trip, became platinum. In the latter part of his career, Wayne Static decided to go solo.
He was scheduled to tour with Powerman 5000 as solo act before his death.
