Just days after the break-up of Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin hit the headlines, Gwyneth Paltrow shows up with former husband at a Gala at Milk Studios in Hollywood!
The split of Paltrow and Martin seemed to be amicable as the latter attended the 42-year-old actress' Gala that she hosted to honor Tom Ford. The Shallow Hal actress had hosted the 2014 amfAR L.A. Inspiration Gala which honored the 53-year-old American fashion designer and film director.
According to the Iron Man actress, "I was very inspired by everyone's efforts to make tonight a success and to continue to support amfAR's crucial work, so I called an old friend who loves Tom as much as I do, to see if a surprise performance might be in order," Paltrow told the crowd. "This brilliant singer-songwriter has sold 80 million records and won every single award that there is to be won, especially father of the year, which has been won consecutively since 2004. And speaking of Chris Martin and the incredibly talented Johnny Buckland, who together make up one half of the incredibly talented Coldplay."
Last October 2002, Paltrow met Martin of the British rock group, Coldplay. The got married in 2003 and have two children together: a daughter named Apple Blythe Alison Martin who was born on 2004 and a son named Moses Bruce Anthony Martin born two years later.
In March 2014, Paltrow announced that she and Martin had separated after ten years together. The Sliding Doors actress described the separation process as "conscious uncoupling".
After Gwyneth had welcomed her ex-husband, Martin took the stage saying, "This is Justin Timberlake [pointing at himself], this is Justin Bieber [pointing at Buckland] and we play Coldplay covers." The crowd cheered heavily and the band proceeded to play "Paradise" and "Viva la Vida".
Even Sharon Stone was amazed by what she saw and acknowledged the friendship of Martin and Paltrow in her speech.
