Jennifer Lopez reminisces on her past love life. According to Jenny From The Block singer, her split with actor Ben Affleck last 2004 was her first big heartbreak". She also opened up on her divorce with longtime friend and ex-husband Marc Anthony.
The 45-year-old singer was married twice before dating and getting engaged to Ben Affleck, who was her costar in the film Gigli. In 2004, when the couple broke up, Lopez admitted that she truly felt heartbreak. In a new interview with Maria Shriver, the I Luh Ya Papi singer shared how she was very sad and devastated after she parted from Affleck ten years ago. The interview is set to air on November 3 and 4 on the Today show.
Lopez had opened up her feelings about the past during a discussion about her upcoming memoir, True Love. Shriver had commented on how quick Lopez was to continue on with another relationship after her engagement to Affleck was broken off. The Selena actress ended her relationship with Affleck in January 2004 and by June of that same year, she got married to her third husband Marc Anthony.
The Wedding Planner actress clarified, saying, " It was probably my first big heartbreak, and to have one of my best friends who I'd known for years, who I actually love and did have chemistry with, come into my life and say, 'I'm here'...What you need to know is, nobody can save you or heal you. Only you can do that for you."
The American Idol judge continued, "It's still a work in progress for me. It's how you feel as a child, you know, being a middle child and kind of being invisible sometimes, or, you know, trying to get the attention." Because of that, the actress admitted that she tends to be attracted to really intense, passionate people but realizes in the long run that it is not always a great thing.
Jennifer Lopez in currently single as has recently split from her dancer-choreographer Casper Smart earlier this year. Lopez is at the moment, "open to love" but "right now, I think it's better to just be on my own for a minute and learn more about myself."
