When I was a young child, every time we took a long car trip I would amuse myself by reading out loud all of the signs we passed. If we were on the highway, I'd announce each upcoming exit, the different restaurants and just about anything that I saw on a sign. I'm sure I was a little annoying to my parents, but it kept me from fighting with my sister. Little did I realize, twenty years later, I would be in the business of making signs just like the ones I observed through the car window.
I became a franchise owner of FASTSIGNS about 2 years ago. I was looking for a business opportunity that could provide me with a good living and also be something that I found interesting. A friend of mine said that he had a brother-in-law who had been making signs for the county for years and really enjoyed his work. I contacted the team at FASTSIGNS and listened to their presentation. It only took a few minutes to convince me that this was the golden opportunity I had been looking to find.
FASTSIGNS is a worldwide sign company with more than 500 stores in the United States, Canada and around the world. Franchisees are required to have a minimum net worth of $250,000 and liquid assets of at least $75,000. Depending upon the location and the size of the store, the total cost for a franchise ranges from about $170,000 to nearly $300,000. Third party financing is available.
What I really like about the FASTSIGNS operation is that they are dedicated to doing everything possible to assure your success as a small business owner. They start off by giving you a broad overview of the sign business and then focus on what you will need to be successful. The team of experts will help you find the best site for your store, provide you with the best and most technologically advanced equipment and stand by your side as you learn the business.
I would highly recommend this business to anyone that loves people and is willing to work hard to develop their business. Gross sales average nearly $500,000 and an individual can make a very nice living as a franchise owner.

If you are looking for a good business that does not require a huge down payment or a massive amount of capital, you might consider the sign fabrication business. FASTSIGNS is a leading franchisor of custom signs, graphics, marketing and trade show displays and many other specialty items. Using the latest technology, franchisees can produce very professional looking signs on all types of mediums from steel and aluminum to wood and acrylic.
The opportunity to own a well established and well respected sign and graphics company was presented to me when I attended a franchise show at the convention center in my home town. There were many different companies in attendance and I considered a few others before deciding on FASTSIGNS.
The company had a very professional display, showing off some of the fine work that they produce. Plenty of well laid out graphics and clear signs made their booth stand out in the crowd. The representatives were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions and concerns. I left the franchise show with just one application -a FASTSIGNS Franchise application.
When I got home, I thought about what I had seen that day and started to become excited about the possibility of owning my own business. I browsed through the literature that FASTSIGNS had given me and found that the have a network of over 550 units. Most of them are spread across the United States, but they also have more than 20 stores in Canada and 50 International stores in other countries around the world.
Reading further, I was reassured by the comments from other franchisees that spoke of the great support they received as they developed their business. Signs and graphics are needed by every business as well as by the government and private individuals. The potential market is virtually unlimited.
I decided that this was the right opportunity for me. I was able to finance most of the $200,000 total cost of the franchise and have been enjoying a very steady flow of customers. The people at FASTSIGNS are always available if I have a problem and I look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with FASTSIGNS.
