Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift are very close friends - collaborating for chart-topping hits and having mutual fondness for cats. They are so close, in fact, that the 'Shake It Off' singer reportedly asked the 'Thinking Out Loud' crooner for some relationship advice.
"Taylor adores Ed and thinks he's a really good judge of character, so she's asked him to be her matchmaker," a source told Heat Magazine via J-14.
The 'Lego House' singer even told some of his fans that he's been trying to set Swift up with his "good-looking mates."
Sheeran has been dating non-celebrity Athina Andrelos for some time now and it looks like he wants his close friend to enjoy the same kind of happiness he is currently enjoying.
Heat Magazine further added, "He genuinely cares about Taylor and she knows that he won't set her up with any playboys."
"I have tried to set Taylor up with a few of my friends," he told the fans who turned up for an intimate session last month. According to US Weekly, he wanted his BFF to date Orlando Bloom but that didn't seem to have worked out though.
The insider from The Heat says he's now eyeing a musician friend as a possible match for Swift. According to the publication, the British sensation wants the 'Out Of The Woods' singer to at least meet Ryan Keen whom he met in 2011 during his tour.
"Ed wants to get him to NYC where Taylor lives and work out a good time for them to meet. She's even joked that if he finds her a husband, she'll name her first child after him," the insider further revealed.

Although she only dated One Direction's Harry Styles for a bit, she allegedly already wrote a lot of songs about the 'You And I' singer.
