The reality television series star Todd Chrisley's younger brother Randy has been diagnosed with stage four cancer. The rep of the star announced the news to Us Weekly exclusively.
The statement said, "Todd Chrisley and his family are saddened to announce that his younger brother, Randy, has been diagnosed with stage four cancer."
The Chrisley Knows Best rep also said that, "As of today, they have started the arduous and long road of radiation and chemotherapy. The family remains hopeful of a full and speedy recovery for their beloved Randy. The family is asking for privacy and respect during this process, especially for Randy's young family who are trying to cope with this very recent and unexpected prognosis." The rep ended the statement, saying, "There will be no further comments regarding this matter."
The rep has not disclosed what type of cancer Randy is facing or how he came to discover that he had the illness.
The family reality series stars father Todd, his wife Julie, and their kids, 25-year-old Lindsie and 18-year-old Chase. Todd's younger sibling, Randy, is not featured on the hit USA show.
Chrisley Knows Best is an American reality television series that is shown on the USA Network. The series features the life of a millionaire, Todd Chrisley, together with his family. The show takes place in Roswell, Georgia.
The series is produced executively by Adam Greener, Jim Sayer, and Stephanie Chambers.
Last April 2014, the Network had ordered a second season of Chrisley Knows Best with 12 episodes. The show is currently USA's youngest-skewing original series. Just this month of October, the series was renewed for third season with 12 episodes.
The reviews were mixed, some saying that the series was so much better than Honey Boo Boo or The Osbournes. Some critics said it was fun and interesting while others said that the show was "uncomfortable to watch" and "another knockoff designed to cash in on the 'Duck Dynasty' demo."
