Now here are the latest details on the Wonder Woman spin-off movie headed by Israeli actress Gal Gadot. According to Bleeding Cool, the new Wonder Woman movie is going to be set in the 1920's, in Paradise Island, the land of the Amazons. The movie will show "warring Amazonian factions vying for control." The story shifts when a man shows up in the island and will ask for their help. Wonder Woman will then accompany the man back to his world where it will be discovered that the time is 1920's. As told by the source to Bleeding Cool, the man is not confirmed if he will be Steve Trevor, Wonder Woman's love interest in the DC comics.
Furthermore, part 2 of the movie series will take place during the 1930s to 1940s with no specific plot yet, but the last installment will take place in modern day with Wonder Woman as part of the Justice League.
It will be an interesting plot for sure, as we will find out how the gorgeous Gal Gadot is going to transform from 1920s to modern day hero. But we take note that she is after all a demi-god, fathered by Zeus, so it might work.
It has been reported last week that the said movie is still on the look out for a female director to head the film. So far, the names that came up on the list are Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty,2012), Lynne Ramsay (Ratcatcher,1999), Patty Jenkins (Monster,2003), Debra Granik (Winter's Bone,2010), Amma Asante (Belle,2013), Ava DuVernay (directed an episode of Scandal), Michelle MacLaren (directed some episodes of Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead and The Leftovers), Jennifer Lee (Frozen,2013), Gina Prince-Bythewood (Beyond the Lights,2014), Lisa Cholodenko (The Kids are Alright,2010), Sarah Polley (Stories We Tell,2012), Kimberly Pierce (Carrie,2013) and Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda 1, 2008; Kung Fu Panda,2011; Kung Fu Panda 3, 2015) were mentioned.
