Model and up and coming actress Cara Delevingne could be dropping clues via her Instagram post recently that she might be playing the role of Harley Quinn in the much-anticipated DC movie Suicide Squad.
The British model is reportedly in early talks with DC and Warner Bros. for one of the major roles in this movie which is composed of some of DC's supervillains. After the rumors came out that "The Social Network" star Jesse Eisenberg will reprise his role as Lex Luthor in the said film, it looks like Warner is slowly "getting their ducks in a row" as more and more actors are are being believed to be in negotiations to take on DC's supervillain characters.
According to Latino Review, Cara is "under consideration for a key role" although not necessarily as Harley Quinn since the earlier script did not include the said character. Oh well, a lot of things can happen in a snap so we never know if they have already included the "accomplice and girlfriend to The Joker" as part of its casting. Other actors who are reportedly being courted to appear in the movie are Will Smith( Men in Black I,II &III), Ryan Gosling (The Notebook), Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) and Margot Robbie (Wolf of Wall Street).
Cara may be new in the movie industry, but as Latino Review further reports, the socialite and model has quite a number of major movies in the bag. She is believed to be up for a role in Pirates of the Caribbean 5, as well as a lead role in the John Green novel Paper Towns (author of The Fault in Our Stars, which became a blockbuster worldwide). Do you think Cara Delevingne is perfect for the Harley Quinn role?
Suicide Squad will be directed by David Ayer (Fury) and the movie is slated to hit theaters by August 2016.
