More and more Chinese smartphone manufacturers are making waves globally and having a run for Apple and Samsung's money. One Chinese tech giant who succeeded invading other countries is Xiaomi who just turned four last April. According to industry analysts, it has made its way as the top vendor in China, having also expanded its market in Singapore, Hongkong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, among others.
Another Chinese company that has recently revealed its plans to go global and in fact has already opened placement for international pre-orders of their flagship phone MX4, is Meizu, led by Bai Yongxiang, the company's CEO and President. MX4 is positioned as a high-end smartphone of Meizu and is reportedly created to compete with Xiaomi's Mi4.

The Meizu MX4 has a 5.36-inch IPS LCD display and 1,152 x 1,920 pixels resolution, while the Xiaomi Mi4 handset comes with a tad smaller 5.0-inch display and 1,080 x 1,920 pixels resolution. The pixel densities of the Xiaomi and Meizu smartphones are at 441 ppi and 418 ppi, respectively.
Meizu MX4 is 0.35-inch thick and weighs 149 grams, whereas the Xiaomi device is 0.35-inch thick and weighs 147 grams.
Xiaomi's Mi4 runs by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) Krait 400 processor, at 2.5 GHz and backed by a 3 GB of RAM. The Meizu MX4, however, runs by an octa-core (MediaTek MT6595) processor, clocked at a combination of four 2.2 GHz Cortex-A17 cores and four 1.7 GHz Cortex-A7 cores and 2 GB of RAM. Also, the Xiaomi handset runs on Android v4.4.3 KitKat OS with the company's MIUI on top of it, while the Meizu handset runs on Android v4.4.4 KitKat OS along with Meizu's Flyme 4.0. When it comes to memory, Xiaomi offers 16 GB and 64 GB of in-built storage, while the Meizu MX4 comes with 16/32/64 GBs of storage. The only downside is that both the do not support expandable storage.
The Meizu MX4 has a 20.7 MP primary camera unit with dual-LED flash, while the Xiaomi Mi4 has a 13 MP rear-facing camera unit with dual-LED flash. However, the Xiaomi handset features an 8 MP front-facing unit for selfies, but the Meizu handset only has 2 MP. Furthermore, the Xiaomi device runs in a 3080 mAh battery, and the Meizu runs in a comparable 3100 mAh battery unit.
