LG Android L 5.0 Update: LG Joins HTC, Sony And Motorola To Receive The Update; Samsung Still Working On Android 4.4.4 Update

LG is the latest phone manufacturer to announce to receive the update on its smartphones.

According to IB Times that an official Facebook post by LG Deutschland (translated to English), the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update will initially roll out to users of LG's recent flagship G3 smartphone, after which it will be made available to the older G2 smartphone.

The LG G2 originally ran in Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and received an Android 4.4.3 Kitkat

LG is the latest phone manufacturer to announce to receive the update on its smartphones.

According to IB Times that an official Facebook post by LG Deutschland (translated to English), the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update will initially roll out to users of LG's recent flagship G3 smartphone, after which it will be made available to the older G2 smartphone.

The LG G2 originally ran in Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and received an Android 4.4.3 Kitkat.

On the other hand, other phone manufacturers are gearing up for the Android L Update.

HTC announced that HTC One M8 will be receiving the update. HTC has to confirm other devices that might be included in its list of devices to receive Android L update.

While the update is expected to be delayed in Samsung devices as the tech giant is still working on its Samsung Galaxy S series Android 4.4.4 update.

Meanwhile, Sony has already announced its list to receive Android L.

"We'll be making Sony Mobile's Android L upgrade available for the entire premium Z series: including Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact." Sony announced on its website .

The website also stated that Sony Android 5.0 update will only come out in early 2015.

Samsung Galaxy S5 is tipped to receive update to Android Lollipop 5.0 starting on December as SamMobile claims and IBTimes added " which could prove as the fastest jump so far by any Samsung flagship to Google's re-engineered mobile operating system."

The site also added that when the update rolls out it will be gradual and it will take weeks for the Android Lollipop 5.0 update will be available in all regions
