Supermodel Coco Rocha gives 18-year old Kendall Jenner advice on how to handle bullies during fashion shows. "You have to remember that during the shows, it is all very young girls. It's like high school," Rocha explained. "We breathe and eat and sleep together for two months, so it gets to a point where you're just overwhelmed, frustrated and tired, and I've had my own stories where yeah, it gets a little catty backstage."
According to the Huffington Post, some tabloid sources said that some of the models didn’t like the reality star getting a spot in the fashion industry so easily when they themselves had "worked so hard to get a spot on the runway". They didn't think it was "fair" that Jenner was walking alongside them in shows for Diane Von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan New York and Tommy Hilfiger.
Fans of the popular and rising model Kendall Jenner were enraged when reports that Kendall was being bullied back stage during the New York Fashion Week surfaced. A source of In Touch Magazine said, “Some [of the models] put out their cigarettes in Kendall’s drink!” the source explains. “They thought she was getting special treatment and just weren’t OK with it.”
"It is bad for the industry, and if that all did happen, that's really frustrating to hear," she told HuffPost Live about Jenner's experiences. "When [backstage cattiness] does happen, step back, breathe a minute, and get out of the room -- whatever you need to do. Because in the end, people are watching you under such a fine microscope," she said.
"People are going to watch whatever you do, so if you want the job, if you want to be respected in the industry, remember that even though you're a young girl, you have to act a little older and a little wiser" She continued.
