It was revealed on "Good Morning America" Monday, the day the 24-year-old singer's highly anticipated album"1989" dropped, that she has been named by NYC Go as a Global Welcome Ambassador for tourism.
"You learn a lot when you get here and the cool thing about being named the Welcome Ambassador for Tourism - which was the craziest, coolest thing - is that I'm still learning," Swift said during her sit-down with co-host Robin Roberts.
"But I'm so enthusiastic about this city that I feel like, when I love something, I'm very vocal about it, I'm vocal about it with my music. I just go around like, 'Everybody! New York is amazing!' So I think they just picked up on that and gave me a title."
"New York was a huge landscape for what became this album. It's affected my life in ways I'm not even aware of fully."
Swift's new title is very fitting as the opening track to her fifth studio album is "Welcome to New York."
"Breaking news: @taylorswift13 is our Global Welcome Ambassador!" NYC Go tweeted early Monday with a link to the promo video featuring Swift.
The blond beauty purchased a lux $20 million dollar apartment in the Big Apple in May and appears to loving every minute of residing on the East Coast.
"It's like an electric city and I approached moving there with such wide-eyed optimism. I saw (New York) as a place of endless potential and possibilities, and you can hear that reflected in this music and this first song especially," she said last week when she teased the track paying homage to the city.
"I think you have to stay true to who you are (and), at the same, time challenge who you are to explore all the different aspects of what you can create," she told Roberts of the record Monday.
