'What A Girl Wants' Star Amanda Bynes Gets Good News; Driver's License Reinstated After DUI Arrest

| By

After a series of "unfortunate" events the past days for Amanda Bynes, the troubled star is finally getting good news by having her driver's license re-instated after DUI (Driving Under the Influence) arrest.

Bynes was supposed to appear in court on Thursday following her DUI arrest, but since the Los Angeles City Attorney is still investigating the said incident, there will be no court proceedings meantime. Moreover, her criminal defense attorney, Richard Hutton, was able to help her by giving back her driving privileges. Not that it matters as Bynes is still under psychiatric hold, but at least this could be a ray of hope for her.

She was arrested by the California Highway Patrol last September 28 having discovered that she was under the influence of a controlled substance while driving. Shortly after that, she got involved in a number of controversies such as alleged shoplifting at Barneys in New York and twerking in one of the Upper East Side boutiques. But the biggest controversy she has inflicted upon herself this year was her revelation via twitter, that her father allegedly abused her physically and sexually as a child.

She was put on a 72-hour long involuntary psychiatric hold last October 10, but was extended to 14 days while the court determines on who gets the conservatorship. As the former Nickelodeon star stays for 14 more days at Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena, California under section 5150 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code, report says she feels betrayed by her parents following her involuntary hospitalization and psychiatric hold. Bynes is having a hard time receiving the help she needs and adapting again to treatments, according to a report by Radar.

But how Bynes feels doesn't seem to matter to her parents as they are more concerned with her getting proper and necessary treatment, whether she agrees to it or not. We just wish that more good news will come Bynes' way as she moves on towards full recovery (we hope).
