According to TV Fanatic, the whole shebang for this "Goldbergs" season 2 episode 4 recap started with an intoxicated Beverly (Wendy McLendon-Covey). The alcohol had succeeded in getting rid of her inhibitions while bringing out her pent-up feelings of jealousy towards Louise Rubin (Gillian Vigman), reported TV Guide.
Fans may recall that her hurt, which she almost successfully kept only to herself if she had not gotten drunk, stemmed from the events that transpired in the previous episode.
Back then, she had chanced upon her daughter Erica spending time with Louise, whom everybody in their neighborhood considered as the cool mom. Her discovery played at her insecurities.
Come episode 4, she enters the scene all drunk after spending time drinking and pouring her heart out to her dad. Completely intoxicated, she was ready to prove to her kids just how cool she can get.
TV Fanatic shared the hilarious scenes as Beverly tries mingling with Erica's group of friends. However, her idea of showing her cool side meant channeling Madonna, not only in appearance, but also by dancing like her!
But the heartwarming thing about Beverly is that no amount of intoxication could keep her from telling her family how much she loves them. And while she was shaking a-la Madonna in front of Erica and her friends, her son Barry and his friends were busy getting involved with ridiculous activities.
Despite the initial embarrassment on Erica's and Beverly's part, and the idiosyncratic adventures of Barry and his friends, everything ended well.
