Amal Alamuddin Clooney, new wife of 53-year-old actor George Clooney, is "perfect for him", according to a close friend and husband of model Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber.
Last month, the couple wed at Venice, Italy, followed by a star-studded wedding ceremony a couple of days earlier. Rande had witnessed the couple's nuptials and said that he couldn't be more happier for them.
According to Rande, "I've been friends with George probably half my life. And it's just great that he found someone." He continued to tell People.com about Amal, "She's really perfect for him."
"She's smart and she's beautiful, engaging. She is, again ... smart, but she doesn't make you feel stupid! She's a great girl, and together I think they can do some incredible things," Rande continued, while at the launch of photographer Brian Bowne Smith's debut solo show on in West Hollywood last Thursday night.
Amal is sweet to George as reports say that she has been showering her new husband with gifts. She recently sent her beau handmade Murano cocktail glasses, which are the same as ones used at their wedding last month. For a set of 12 glasses, the cost was over £2,300, together with silk napkins and handmade napkin holders.
A source revealed to E! News that, "Amal loves the idea of them having the same cocktail glasses that they used at the Cipriani Hotel in Venice."
34-year-old Amal Alamuddin is a British-Lebanese lawyer, activist, and author. She specializes in international law, criminal law, human rights, and extradition. She is fluent in Arabic, English and French.
Amal got engaged to Clooney last April 2014 before getting married in September of the same year. This month, the couple was reported to have purchased the Mill House on an island in the River Thames at Sonning Eye in England for around £10 million.
