After Microsoft's dethroned a long time CEO and replace it with a fresh leader, consumers and tech-geeks have seen some big changes in the tech-companies product and services. As the new head of a software giant, Satya Nadela eyed Microsoft products and services available "across all devices."
In line with Nadela's drive to diversify the company's product and service offering, Microsoft is reportedly about to venture into another market. The American tech-giant will soon launch their very first wearable device, as Forbes reported.
Citing information from insiders, the report said the Microsoft's upcoming smartwatch will be launched before the year end. It is deemed perfect as the holiday season is about to start. It can also be recalled that Apple also eyed the same season for their Apple Watch until the company moved the product's launch to 2015.
Microsoft's upcoming smartwatch will be the first try of the Windows-making company into another kind of tech-market. But it is said to be equipped with features that can withstand its potential rivalry against Samsung Galaxy Gear and Motorola's Moto 360.
The notable feature of the said Microsoft wearable device is its battery that is reportedly equipped with more than two days life span. If this is true, the upcoming smartwatch of Nadela's company will clearly have a head start against its competitor.
Consumers and even tech-buffs see the battery capacity as an important factor in choosing devices. Both Samsung and Motorola's smartwatches have one day battery life. The Cupertino-based company CEO, Tim Cook, has also said that its upcoming Apple Watch needs to be charged every night. If ever Microsoft will be able to make the 2-day capacity possible, its smartwatch will have the best edge among its rivals.
The Verge reported another key feature of the upcoming Microsoft wearble device is its support for Windows Phone, iOS, and Android. This will mean the upcoming smartwatch will be able to connect to all smartphones as compared to the Moto 360 and Gear that is compatible with Android devices only and to Apple Watch that only allows connection with the iPhone series.
Leaked images have also showed the upcoming Microsoft smartwatch will more likely feature 'a fitness band in Microsoft patent filings'. The upcoming wearable device is also rumored to have a 1.5-inch screen with removable wrist bands.
The upcoming device, that will signal Microsoft's new foray, 'may also become a health tracking device' someday, Wall Street reported. Like its rival, the fitness band will monitor heat beat and heart rate. Other features will be released soon as Microsoft smartwatch release is imminent.
