HOWEVER, "Star Wars: Battlefront 3" remains in production, only by a different developer - DICE of Electronic Arts.
Dice, owned by Electronic Arts is known for its work in the 2008 Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game "Mirror's Edge", as well as the "Battlefield" series released in 2002. As Electronic Arts won the rights to develop the "Star Wars" franchise in 2003, it quickly put Dice to work on the reboot of "Star Wars: Battlefront 3", following the game's cancelled development with Free Radicals, of which the leaked gameplay trailers are from.
As proof that we will indeed see "Star Wars: Battlefront 3" by its 2015 release date, DICE unleashed "Star Wars: Battlefront 3" gameplay trailer by E3 2014 press conference last June in California. Showing that "Star Wars: Battlefront 3" is deeply in development, and that DICE is developing it.
