Gotham TV Series News, Episode Guide: Reddit User Comes Up With A Crazy Theory About Penguin

| By

Oswald "The Penguin" Cobblepot is the Joker in Gotham TV series? Sounds crazy, right? Well, that is what a Reddit user has been claiming in a post. The post has been circulating for days and even made it to major Gotham TV series news posts by several entertainment websites. His theory though somehow makes sense and he is very detailed with it.

Reddit user called cohencide started his post by saying that Oswald Cobblepot (played by Robin Lord Taylor) represents Penguin well when it comes to physical aspect, like the height and weight. However, he argues that Penguin isn't as murderous as Joker just like what is shown in the Fox TV series.

"So we have a tall slim psychotic mass murderer who sometimes poisons people. Doesn't this sound more like The Joker to you? So why is The Joker going by Penguin's name?."

"Oswald Cobblepot is supposed to be dead. He knows that with such an unusual name it's bound to get back to Fish Mooney that someone named Oswald Cobblepot is still in Gotham. So he hires a short fat kid to go around telling people his name is Oswald Cobblepot. This kid idolizes the Joker so he does everything he can to be more like him. He dresses like him, he walks like him, he carries an umbrella just like him."

Cohendice event went on to say that Oswald Cobblepot in the Gotham TV series might just walk away from the city and establish his own hood and later be introduced as the Joker.

"Meanwhile original Cobblepot realizes he has to hide his identity if he's going to continue to operate as a gangster in Gotham and develops the Red Hood identity.

This short fat kid with the big long nose becomes the Penguin. The original Cobblepot has some kind of industrial accident and becomes the Joker."

This Gotham TV series talks definitely attracted attention with many of the internet users claiming it was a ridiculous theory. What about you, what do you think? Is Oswald Penguin or the Joker?

Gotham TV series airs every Monday. The show stars Ben McKenzie as Jim Gordon and David Mazouz as the young Bruce Wayne.
