Microsoft Smartwatch Finally Arriving In The Market: Features A Two-Day Battery Life, Longest Battery Running Time Among Smartwatches!

| By

Microsoft is reportedly preparing a wearable device to launch in the next few weeks!

According to Forbes, which cites unspecified sources who are reportedly "close to the project." A few weeks after, a new filing for a wireless device has just been approved by the Federal Communications Commission (via Windows Central).

The gadget will purportedly have health-monitoring capabilities such as a heart rate tracker that is said to work across different mobile platforms such as iPhones, Android devices, and Windows Phones. And that the battery will last for more than two days of "regular use;" another factor that makes Microsoft Smartwatch different from other smartwatches. For example, Apple's smartwatch, according to its CEO Tim Cook, the gadget will have to be charged every night, just like the Gear and Moto 360. Motorola's Moto 360 smart watch also has a continuous heart rate monitor and has been praised for its stylish design, but the battery tends to last for just 24 hours based on various reviews. Some wearables like the Pebble and Jawbone Up24 boast batteries that last for days or even weeks at a time, but that becomes impossible when a device features a color display like the Apple Watch or Gear.

While as reported by The Verge, the company will be most likely to launch three new fitness trackers in the coming weeks, but the Surge will serve as a sort-of "superwatch", built-in with GPS tracking, PurePulse heart rate monitoring, and real-time workout data for various activities at a price of $249. Additionally, It was reported to come with Fitbit's 24/7 activity-tracking technology.

Back in April 2013, The Verge first reported that Microsoft's Xbox team was testing a device similar to this so-called Smartwatch, and had been for about a year at the time. The device is said to feature a 1.5" touch-enabled screen.

As we recall Apple in September, they are announcing the launch of their sleek-looking device, the $350 Apple Watch on 2015's first quarter. And if Forbes' report is precise, Microsoft's smartwatch will be hitting the market in the busy holiday shopping season which gives them a lead-up before Apple.

No exact date were yet been confirmed but Microsoft's Smartwatch coming this 2014 has high possibilities. The smartwatch was even mentioned to come in three different sizes: small, medium, and large.
