Everything has been going great so far for the Fast & Furious star Gal Gadot who's gonna play the role of Wonder Woman in the up and coming surefire movie Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. Thanks to the said film, it's just gonna get better for the 29-year old Israeli actress as she is guaranteed of a solo Wonder Woman movie, along with the Dawn of Justice sequel, between 2017-2019.
The Wonder Woman spin-off is set to hit screens by 2017, which puts DC to advantage from Marvel, since they were the first to come up with a female superhero solo film (after quite a while, that is. The last female superhero movie was Elektra back in 2005 but came out as a disppointment according to Marvel fans) regardless of Marvel fans clamoring for a Black Widow (played by Scarlett Johansson) spin-off.
DC fans were skeptic at first when they found out Gadot got the Wonder Woman role, because she didn't seem to fit the description of the female super hero. It took a while before fans have finally accepted this fact that it's Gadot they will be seeing on big screen playing the most popular female superhero of all time. Zack Snyder, director of Batman vs Superman, said that Wonder Woman character is one of the "most powerful" in the history of comic book fiction. And with that, he seemed to gave his 2 thumbs-up for Gadot as the "perfect choice" to bring her to life on the big screen.
There have also been speculations on the origin of Wonder Woman in the Batman vs Superman film. Some say she could be the distant cousin of Superman from the planet Krypton, but producer Charles Roven gave an idea where they will pick up the backstory of the female superhero. He mentioned in his speaking engagement at Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television, that WW is "a demigod...her father was Zeus."
We can't wait to hear more details from this exciting character. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.
Gal Gadot will also be part of the Ben-Hur remake (Read more: https://www.franchiseherald.com/articles/10866/20141024/gal-gadot-wonder-woman-dc-batman-superman-benhur.htm#ixzz3HJzhNiY0).
