Xiaomi's Redmi Note and Mi4 are waiting to be released in India within the next 2 months according to VP for International Operations Hugo Barra, and yet there is another new smartphone from the Chinese tech giant that's about to be launched. Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note's rumored successor, has its back panel image making rounds in the Internet, as initially posted in Weibo, a Chinese social networking site. The said new device is set to pull down Meizu MX4, another Chinese handset.
There have been rumors as early as last month on the specifications of Redmi Note 2, as well as its initial price offer. But an update on the gadget's specs and price excites Xiaomi users making them look forward to the launch of the Redmi Note's successor.
The dimensions of the rear panel measures at 159 x 82 mm. Interestingly, the structure of the camera outlet and the flash place holder will have a different design unlike the other Xiaomi devices released this year, as reported by Phone Arena. Furthermore, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will reportedly keep the 5.5-inch display. The handset will be powered an octa-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 615) Cortex-A53 64-bit processor. The new smartphone will have a 2 GB of RAM and will feature a 13 MP rear-facing camera unit along with a rumored dual-LED flash, according to GSM Arena.
The handset comes with an octa-core (Mediatek MT6592) Cortex-A7 processor, instead of the Qualcomm processor. Plus, there is going to be a 5 MP front-facing shooter for selfies. The phone runs on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS and comes equipped with 8 GB internal storage capacity and microSD card support for expansion up to 32 GB. But what it takes pride on the most is its killer battery of Li-Po 3200 mAh unit.
In addition, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will reportedly be priced at CNY 1,500 that roughly translates to US$244 and AU$280. Noticeably, the quoted price is 50% more than the original Redmi Note released in March.
We will keep you posted on the Redmi Note 2 in the coming days.
