Reports of the famous grafitti artist Banksy having been arrested in London has been making the rounds on the internet as of late.
A "click-bait" website, as speculators say, called "National Report" have published an article saying that the modern-day artist has finally been arrested and his identity has even been revealed. They wrote that Banksy was identified as a man named Paul Horner, thirty-five years of age. Aside from his identity, the article also said that Banksy has been arrested by both the Metropolitan Police, and the City of London Police. This caused numerous backlashes from the public, bashing the london police for arresting a "great artist". Needless to say, the public was on Banksy's side.
The report also published a suuposed statement from Police Chief Lyndon Edwards about the whole situation;
"We had a 24-hour Anti-Graffiti Task Force monitoring different groups where Banksy was known to frequent. We received word that around 2am a group of individuals left a flat speculated to be one of Banky's art studios. This group was followed by agents and once vandalism had occurred, we then arrested the group, 5 men total. These individuals all had ID on them except for one, and that is the one we believed to be Banksy, we then raided the studio where this group was last seen leaving from. Inside we found thousands of dollars of counterfeit money along with future projects of vandalism. We also found a passport and ID of a Paul Horner who matched the description of the man that we are currently holding. Horner is currently being held without bail on charges of vandalism, conspiracy, racketeering and counterfeiting. We are also holding the other four individuals whose names we are not releasing at this time."
While the Banksy Arrested report seems to be true and even had fans enraged, the article is proven to be completely false, as Scotland Yard has confirmed that Banksy has not been arrested. The National Report site is apparently a satirica website, publishing false articles.
To confirm this, Banksy has recently made a new artwork at his hometown in Bristol.
