The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their second baby in April next year, raising the possibility the birth will coincide with their wedding anniversary.
Their announcement was made after the Duchess passed the 12-week mark in her pregnancy, suggesting a due date in late April.
The date could coincide with the Queen's birthday, on April 21, or the Duke and Duchess's wedding anniversary on April 29.
Any later and the baby will arrive as the country prepares to vote in next year's General Election on May 7.
The Duchess has been forced to cancel a string of engagements after being stricken with severe pregnancy sickness, but Kensington Palace said she was now improving.
She is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, the same form of severe sickness that left her hospitalised when she was pregnant with Prince George.
A Kensington Palace spokesman said: "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in April 2015. The Duchess of Cambridge continues to be affected by hyperemisis gravidarum, but her condition is steadily improving."
There has been a lot of rumors about Kate Middleton is carrying twins but there has been no official statement yet from the Palace.
Also, reports have been saying that the Duchess is expecting a baby girl, and that Kate is already shopping for baby girl clothes.
The baby will become the fourth in line to the throne, behind Prince George.
Prince George recently turned one year old on July 22.
