The “Work It” rapper definitely worked it during a show at Alexander Wang's H&M Collection launch in New York City on Thursday with her slimmer figure wearing a Nike hooded jumper and a snap back cap with the words 'You Can't Workout With Us'.
She tweeted a photo of herself just after the performance: "Just got off stage thanks @ALEXANDERWANGNY and @hmusa for having me perform I enjoyed," she captioned the image.
After staying away from the limelight since late June, her performance at the designer’s launch wowed the crowd with her new body. According to reports, Elliott lost 70 lbs. The 43-year old rapper posted a photo on Instagram, showing off her svelte frame, following a year’s long health program to bring her weight down as she continues to battle a rare disease that attacks the thyroid.
In 2008, Elliott was diagnosed with Graves’ disease which first began affecting her motor skills, followed by a string of symptoms: dizzy spells, lumps in her throat, mood swings, hair loss, a fast heart rate and bulging eyes.
“I couldn't write because my nervous system was so bad - I couldn't even use a pen,” she says. The singer initially realized something was wrong when she was driving and her leg started 'jumping'. “I couldn't keep the brake down and almost crashed,” she tells People.
“I'm 30 pounds lighter because I've been exercising,” she reveals. 'My thyroid is functioning, so I haven't had to take medication in about nine months. [But] you live with it for the rest of your life” She added.
