The movie adaptation of the video game franchise "Uncharted" is in development, and news updates and rumors on possible actor to play Nathan Drake surfaces online.
The "Unchartered" video game franchise is a third-person adventure-action shooter game released through the collaboration of Naughty Dog and Sony Computer Entertainment. The story focuses on the Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter, who travels the whole world in search of historical mysteries accompanied by his mentor and friend, Sully and Elena Fisher, respectively.
The "Uncharted" movie is reported to be in development since around 2007, although in 2010 developer Naughty Dog announces that they are close to the development of the movie adaptation, fans wait four years more to hear updated news of the anticipated "Unchartered" movie release date.
It's not until this year that news (and speculations alike) begin buzzing online on the "Unchartered" movie release date, cast, and new updates with most speculations pointing towards answering the million-dollar question, "Who will portray Nathan Drake?"
Early in 2010, Mark Wahlberg in an interview with MTV shred light on the issue on who will portray Nathan Drake's character upon the "Unchartered" movie release date. He says, "I'm obviously in whatever David [writer] wants to do but the idea of it is so off the charts: De Niro being my father, Pesci being my uncle. It's not going to be the watered-down version, that's for sure."

This year though, finally updated news on release date and casting of "Unchartered" movie finally begins to roll. Beginning with Seth Gordon known for his work in "Horrible Bosses" (2011) who is set to direct, "Safe House" (2012) David Guggenheim to write, and Charles Roven and Alex Gartner to produce.
As casting for Nathan Drake in "Unchartered" movie has not yet been revealed, among the popular choices include Matthew Fox, Ben Affleck, Christian Bale and Gerard Butler.
"Unchartered" movie release date is set to June 10, 2016.
