The Americans TV series season 3 release date is yet to be confirmed although there were reports that it will debut in January. One thing for sure though is that it will be as awesome, or more awesome, than the first two. One reason behind is the arrival of a seasoned actor that is set to play a major role on the lives of lead characters played by Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys. That actor is two-time Tony Awards Best Leading actor winner Frank Langella. The 76-year old actor is also known for his roles in The Box and for playing Richard Nixon in Frost/Nixon that earned him several accolades from various award giving bodies.
This American TV series season 3 spoiler was first revealed by the Hollywood Reporter. It wrote:
"Oscar nominee Frank Langella is heading to The Americans.
The veteran actor has joined the third season of FX's spy drama in a recurring role as a former KGB handler, the cable network announced Thursday.
He will appear in multiple episodes as Gabriel, who used to work with Philip and Elizabeth, and comes out of retirement to take back responsibility for overseeing the two KGB operatives from their previous handler, Claudia (Margo Martindale)."
Frank Langella's character is definitely a great addition to the Americans TV series, especially with the fact Russian spies Philipp and Elizabeth are starting to be converted by the American life, making them forget what they came for. According to earlier American TV series spoiler revealed by the casts during the New York Comic-Con, Rhys' character will get closer to his American nemesis Stan Beeman who is played by Noah Emmerich. Frank Langella's Gabriel must have been tapped to thwart it.
