MacWorld praised the HTC One M8 in its recent report. This is surprise since they mostly review Apple products. But something in M8 has piqued their interest and has compared the features of this Android phone with Apple's iPhone 6.
The same report compared these two devices based on their software, display, design, specs and camera in order to find out if the M8 can stand toe to toe with iPhone 6. First, The HTC One M8 has been around for quite some time than the iPhone 6 and currently, the price of an M8 may be less than iPhone 6.
The M8 is run by Android while the iPhone 6 is using the iOS from Apple. For iTunes users, they will be glad to know that Android can run music from the iTunes library.
The HTC One M8 has a 5 inch display compared to the iPhone 6 which only has a 4.7 inch display. The iPhone 6 plus display is 5.5 inch. For comparison purposes, we will only use the specs for the iPhone 6. The iPhone 6 display uses IPS LCD screen technology that is backlit with LED. The iPhone 6 has a screen resolution of 750 x 1134p with a 326ppi compared to the M8 which has 1920 x 1080p and a density of 441ppi. Based on the review, it seems the M8 has clearer screen resolution than the iPhone 6.
Even if the iPhone 6 has only 4.7 inch display it is not a small phone by any standard but it is very thin one which is also very light, weighing only 129 g. The M8 on the other hand, is lightly larger and thicker than the iPhone 6 and is also much heavier at 160 g.
The iPhone 6 is powered by an Apple A8 dual core processor chip that runs at 1.4 GHz and 1 GB of RAM. The M8 has the Snapdragon 801 processor that runs at 2.3 GHz and has 2 GB of RAM.
Both the iPhone 6 and HTC One M8 have their own strengths and weaknesses but the final decision is up to the consumer.
